Caballero de la Muerte JcE

Stat Priority (5.2)

Stats are the core of your character and how you choose to balance those stats will greatly impact the effectiveness of your Blood Death Knight. Use this guide to select the stats that are the most important for your Death Knight and learn how to prioritize those stats to optimize your performance.

Stat Priority

Survival:Mastery > Stamina > Parry > Dodge > Melee Hit (7.5%) > Expertise (7.5%) > Haste
Control + Threat:Mastery > Stamina > Melee Hit (7.5%) > Expertise (7.5%) > Parry > Dodge > Haste

Choosing Stat Priority

Survival Priority
The Survivability priority maximizes your ability to avoid and mitigate damage by increasing your Survivability stats above all else. This priority results in the least amount of overall damage taken, but can lead to more spike damage with a bad avoidance streak.
Control + Threat Priority
The Control + Threat priority maximizes your ability to respond to damage because your Death Strike and Rune consuming abilities are guaranteed to land. This priority results in more overall damage taken then the Survivability strategy, but allows you to reliably smooth out that damage with few wasted Runes. Also, this priority produces a high amount of threat since none of your major threat abilities can miss.

Stat Summaries

MasteryMastery: Blood Shield adds an absorption shield with every Death Strike. Mastery leads to slightly smoother incoming damage that may be easier for your healers to manage.
StaminaIncreases your total health. You want to stack just enough Stamina to survive a couple of hits from bosses so that your healers have time to react.
Expertise & HitThese two stats are effective for both threat generation and survival. You need 7.5% Hit (2550 Rating) to no longer miss your attacks, 7.5% Expertise (2550 Rating) to no longer have attacks dodged, and 15% Expertise (5100 Rating) to no longer have your attacks Parried. However, the 15% Expertise goal is not advised as your stats are better spent elsewhere. Properly stacking Expertise and Hit ensures that your attacks do not miss and that you maximize your threat and Rune usage.
ParryAllows you to avoid an incoming physical attack. Parry has very low diminishing returns which means you can stack a lot of Parry and it will still be an effective stat. As a rule, you want 2.5x as much Parry as Dodge.
DodgeAllows you to avoid an incoming physical attack. Dodge has a higher rate of diminishing returns than Parry and should not be stacked as high.
HasteIncreases the speed of Rune regeneration which results in more frequent use of your threat and survivability abilities.
